Description
Basic Emergency Medical Technician Training
Dates: September 8th, 2026-December 15th, 2026
Time: 5 - 10 PM
Location: Leominster Campus
You can prepare to register by filing a 2026/2027 FAFSA (see below).
DO NOT FILL OUT A COLLEGE APPLICATION.
This Basic EMT training program is the basic course for Emergency Medical Technician/ambulance that follows the guidelines outlined by the United States Department of Health Education and Welfare in conjunction with the National Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation. This particular course is a lecture, discussion, hands-on demonstration, and practical application of the knowledge and skill necessary to care for individuals who have life-threatening emergencies and injuries.
Please note that CPR is covered in this course and does not need to be taken separately.
The Basic EMT will include, but not be limited to:
- Common medical emergencies
- Childbirth
- Working with child patients
- Lifting and moving patients
- Environmental emergencies
- Extrication from automobiles
This course satisfies the requirements for the psycho-motor exam required by the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medicine and the written exam administered by the National Registry of EMT as an EMT-Basic. Students must attain a 73 or better grade average to qualify for the psycho-motor and/or written exam. Test fees are not included in tuition. This class qualifies for GI Bill
®
benefits. Book included in tuition.
Free College Eligibility
This course has recently been approved for Free College through the State of Massachusetts. If you are interested in applying for this grant, your first step is to file a
FAFSA
.
If you are not eligible to file the FAFSA, you can check your eligibility for the
Massachusetts Financial Aid Form (MASFA)
.
